Fuzzy controllers with conditionally firing rules

چکیده
Mamdani controller was successfully used in many applications. One of its interpretations is that it uses a fuzzy relation as an approximation of the desirable input–output correspondence. We analyze mathematical properties of Mamdani controller and notice that it has lower computational complexity when compared to the residuum-based controller. However, we show that in standard situations, both these fuzzy controllers do not represent the rule base properly in the sense of finding a solution to the related system of fuzzy relational equations. First, we consider the premises and consequents as typical inputs and outputs and we want their correspondence to be kept. Second, we require that each normal input produces an output that bears nontrivial information. These two conditions appear to be almost contradictory for the previous controllers. We suggest a generalization of Mamdani controller which allows us to satisfy these requirements. Theory and experiments suggest that it performs better without any change of rule base and without a substantial increase of complexity.

How to Use Controller with Conditionally Firing Rules
In previous work, a fuzzy controller with conditionally firing rules was suggested as an advantageous alternative to Mamdani–Assilian controllers. Its features have been used without much understanding. Therefore we explicitly formulate the rules of its design in this tutorial which has not been available before.
متن کاملConditionally Ring Rules Extend the Possibilities of Fuzzy Controllers
We introduce a fuzzy controller which uses a fuzzy rule base diierently to the classical Mamdani approach. We argue that it has several desirable and well-motivated properties which often cannot be obtained by a Mamdani controller. Let X and Y denote the input and the output space, respectively, and let F(:) denote the collection of all fuzzy subsets. The support of a fuzzy set A 2 F(X) is Supp...
متن کاملArchitectures of Computational Verb Controllers: Towards a New Paradigm of Intelligent Control
There are at least two kinds of methods of designing (computational) verb proportional-integral-derivative(PID) controllers. The first one is to generalize fuzzy PID controllers by substituting “BE” in fuzzy control rules with non-static computational verbs. The second one is to directly construct evolving functions of verbs in human experiences of dynamic processes. These methods will lead to ...

متن کاملChoosing Appropriate Neuro{Fuzzy Models
To use fuzzy controllers for automization tasks appropriate fuzzy sets and fuzzy rules have to be deened. This can be diicult in some domains, and the resulting controller has to be tuned. Neuro{fuzzy models can help in this tuning process by adapting fuzzy sets and creating fuzzy rules. Combinations of neural networks and fuzzy controllers are suitable if there is only partial knowledge in the...
